Spend a Weekend at a State Park Near Lenexa, KS

If you live in the apartments in Lenexa, KS, and want to get away for a weekend, you should go to one of the nearby state parks for the weekend. There are 3 state parks near Lenexa and all three offer activities to keep you and your family busy all weekend.Clinton State ParkLocated on the northeast shore of Clinton Reservoir, the park covers 1500 square acres and has wooded areas, wildflowers fields and native prairie grass areas. Wildlife is abundant and may be seen alongside the park roadways. With a marina, picnicking area, playgrounds, campgrounds and many other amenities Clinton State park makes for a fun weekend.
Perry State Park
Located on Perry Reservoir, Perry State Park has over 200 campsites. A swimming beach, public showers, and picnicking areas for quiet, family times. There are 25 miles of equestrian trails and also 22 miles of hiking and mountain bike trails if you are feeling a bit more active.
Hillsdale State Park
Opened in 1994, Hillsdale State Park is a fairly new park. Boating, camping, fishing and hunting can all be enjoyed here.
With access to so many wonderful state parks, living in apartments in Lenexa, KS does have it’s advantages.
